George H. Hopkins papers, 1876-1904

Papers and memorabilia relating to Hopkins' activities in patriotic society affairs and Michigan politics. Many of the papers relate to Hopkins' position as assistant adjutant general, serving as the personal aide of the Secretary of War, Russell Alexander Alger, and reporting to him on his visits to Army camps and Hospitals during the Spanish American War. Includes information on the Republican National Convention of 1892.
